December, month of parties, presents….and pressure…

December is nearly here with it’s  magic, presents, feasting , parties….and also it’s pressure, and responsibility.  That, too. As women, there is still a lot of societal pressure on us around Christmas. It’s often women who take on a lot of the emotional labour of organising everything that Christmas entails; from office parties to teacher presents to Christmas presents for family (often including partners family), cooking, hosting, house cleaning and preparation and decoration. Many love the magic of Christmas, but for some it sparks stress, and it can also heighten family and money stresses. Either way it is a busy busy month.

Whilst there’s not much we can do to change it all- we CAN provide a day of retreat amidst the busyness. A day to take time for you.

The focus of this day will be the importance of putting ourselves first. Yes, you first. As women, mothers,  sisters, carers and partners this feels radically counter cultural, but it is fundamental to our mental health and happiness. Maybe you know you need to work on this more, or maybe you think you’re actually doing ok, either way we’ll talk about WHY it’s so life changingly important to do this in ALL the different aspects of your life,  and how this can make some much needed space for the stuff you want more of. We’ll also walk you through some really practical steps to how to move ahead in a way that puts YOU at the core, and show you that it is anything but selfish to do so.

Honestly, It was brilliant, and I can’t think of anything I would have changed. An inspiring, amazing group of women, wonderful food, something creative, and two sessions which got you thinking about stepping forward into the best version of yourself. What more could you ask for?

We’ll enjoy a delicious vegan festive lunch made by Faversham based chef and baker  and all round amazing human Hannah Perkin.

You’ll learn how to make a beautiful, abundant herbal wreath to take home with you. This will be on a fresh English moss base. I’ll also demonstrate how to make a fresh greenery garland for your table or mantlepiece, and you’ll take home a little gift from Ray and I home with you too

What you’ll get:

  • A day long retreat in my home in Faversham. 10am-4.30pm.

  • A small, intimate group setting of max 12 people including me and Ray.

  • A group coaching session with Ray Dodd. Her theme for this day retreat will be “you first”, and how to take steps to make space for what you want more of in your life, personally or professionally.

  • A session led by me on creating soulful spaces at Christmas, using foraged and natural finds.

  • You’ll learn how to make a beautiful, abundant herbal wreath.

  • You’ll also learn how to make a fresh greenery garland for your table or mantlepiece.

  • We’ll eat delicious, super nutritious Vegan lunch by local chef Vegan Perks, around a beautiful  table styled by Hannah.

  • Hannah will also be providing vegan morning snacks and afternoon cake. You won’t be hungry!

  • A small gift from us for you to take home with you.

It felt like I crawled in to the retreat, and then floated out at the end of the day.  A treat for your mind and a boost for your soul.  Plus cake.  ‘Me time’ doesn’t get much better than that.

Each of our day retreats are themed differently so even if you have been to one before, you’ll be in for a treat. I teach a different type of wreath in each workshop, so even if you’ve made one before, you’ll get to make one with different materials.

This is for you if:

  • You want to experience the magic of a group of likeminded women, mostly strangers, gathering and sharing together. We welcome mothers and non-mothers alike and often have a mix of both.

  • You want to make a beautiful herbal Christmas wreath and garland for your home.

  • You struggle to put your needs first in one or more aspects of your life; personal or professional.

  • You struggle to make time for self care, even though you totally get how important it is

  • You would like some really practical tips on how you can put your needs and desires first, wither professionally or personally.

  • You want to give yourself some space and time to simply devote to your own sweet self in the midst of Christmas season.

  • You would like to spend some time in an inspiring, nourishing space and eat delicious healthy food.

  • You want to leave feeling inspired, creative and clear on what to do next to prioritise your wellbeing.

Thank you so much for the retreat day. It was so restful and motivating all at the same time. Hanging out with strong kind women always cheers me and you both have a skill of attracting those exact types of women in your work. I will be looking forward to the next one.

I can be quite shy in large group gatherings - especially when I don’t know anybody beforehand! But luckily, Hannah and Ray attract only the nicest people! I was mostly drawn to the retreat for the wreath-making and offer of cake because I’m not really into “self-help coaching”, but Ray talks to much sense, and it’s just lovely hearing her talk and support you in what’s going on in your  life. We were treated to the most delicious lunch and afternoon cake. My wreath, although long died and crispy, still hangs on my door and reminds me of a lovely day out for myself.

I was slightly apprehensive about who would be there, had made my own presumptions (like you do) about whether I would fit in blah blah and nearly talked myself out of coming. I was worried about nothing. I felt so welcomed by you and Ray on entering your home which is beautiful by the way. I felt immediately at ease. The other women were super friendly and I immediately started chatting to people… The setting was beautiful and I absolutely loved the food and hospitality. You guys were super hosts and really welcoming….Oh and the making of wreaths. What a wonderful thing to do together after the morning session. A really beautiful way to end the day. I especially enjoyed it as I’m not particularly crafty but was really pleased with my wreath!
