December festivities are well underway and we are so excited about all there is to come. We have been working through our December Sunday Supplement list of wonderful things to make, do and celebrate; including making lots of wreathes (along with the whole of blogland apparently), lighting the candles over breakfast, donating toys and books (aka major decluttering), watching the starling murmurations and star spotting with Frankie-Rose. I am off to do my first stint of volunteering at our local food bank tomorrow too. Our advent calendar this year is little stamped envelopes each containing Something Christmassy to make, do or give, and this has also brought a lot of (very) early morning joy to our house. Baking christmas biscuits in our pyjama’s at 6.30am was rather…. unforgettable. We’ve made paper snowflakes and paper chains, fed the birds, visited our Christmas market and lots of other delightful things I now can’t remember in my groggy-should-be-in-bed-but-want-to-blog state. This is Frankie’s first cognisant winter and it is delightful to see her understanding of the season unfold. I dreamt about creating winter and Christmas traditions with my kids before having Frankie, and I am profoundly aware of that dream, and this privilege. In fact I'm grasping it with white knuckles, lest the other stresses and strains of the season that threaten at the outskirts take the magic away.
Here is my December Styling The Seasons post. These pictures are always taken so quickly, often with Frankie-Rose temporarily entertained for a limited amount of time next door, but I love capturing how we’re celebrating each month in our home and how we’re bringing whats happened outside in each season, inside.
P.S I am running an Instagram giveaway to win one of the gold Christmas tree posters, featured above, from The Pippa and Ike Show. Check the Seeds and Stitches account for the details.
P.P.S only one day left to enter to win a pack of Nose Baker biscuits (the very best biscuits there are) on the last blog post!
