We've been revelling in some glorious Spring weather down South (its still snowing up north, love the weirdness of our tiny countries weather!) and the sunshine is making me want to refresh all of the rooms in the house; a job I am slowly tackling. You can see my finished bedroom here (although i'll shortly be switching the bed dressings to something more Springlike ) and my finished kitchen here. My next feature for ASOS magazine is up today and it's all about how to make even a grotty bathroom feel a little more Spa-like. This isn't really a 'makeover' like the other posts, rather a list of easy, actionable ideas for people stuck with a bathroom they'd rather tale a sledge hammer too (can we have a show of hands?!) My bathroom is a bit of an 80's disaster and we have decided not to put more money into it for now, having recently done our kitchen so it's all about the small things.
The main job we did in this room was to put up a simple Plywood shelf with white metal wall brackets from our local hardware store. Even tiny bathrooms have a bit of wall space for a shelf, often above the loo, like ours. Having a shelf to play with means you can create a little area of calm amongst the grottyness- a place to put your favourite plants, candles and bath products. Mostly though, it's how the room feels. The scents and textures in the bathroom go a surprisingly long way to making the room feel nicer, and they don't have to break the bank either. Read the rest of my tips here
P.S I hope you all enjoyed my March SundaySupplement yesterday with tons of things to make, do and celebrate this month. So stoked that it's March! This month Frankie turns 4! Wheeee, so party prep is well underway in our house.
