Davina and Hannah here. We’re back, fresh from our 5 week blogging break. Following a busy work period we felt we needed to switch off and stand back, to stop rushing and slow down, and it was sorely needed. We needed some time to just live our lives free of the guilt that we should be doing blog work (the fact that it had become something to be guilty about rather than to take joy in was another red light!) There is something to be said about just living your life and not reflecting on it and recording it constantly, and for us in more depth via the blog, especially when your children are young. But despite that belief we both get so much from sharing our thoughts and our experiences on the blog, and in being part of this funny but brilliant blog community that there is no way we could stop. But sometimes, it's necessary to step back and breathe out. We feel rested and refreshed, recharged and utterly brimming with ideas. We allowed ourselves to dream long and far about what we would like this space to be and where we want to take it. With that in mind there will be a few changes in content and design over the coming weeks, but nothing drastic, we promise!
One new project we would like to share with you today is a new hashtag that we are starting. After doing a little survey of what aspects of our blog people most like (and find useful) we have realised that we really want to focus on the seasons, nature and slow living. We also want to find more ways to engage with you, our amazing readers (who we have missed!) So we are making a hashtag that we have been using personally, collaborative. #EmbracingTheSeasons will help us to record our seasonal adventures, and to see some of yours, too. It'll help us to be more present in the now and grounded in nature. It might be trickier for some in winter- but it is possible, we promise! If you fancy joining in, please tag us so we'll be sure to see it. We'll share our favourites every week or month (not quite decided!)
We'd love you to take part in sharing how you embrace the seasons and to make life easier we have (finally!) started a Seeds and Stitches Instagram account ! Please come and join us over there.
This is what we've been up too.
Davina's Blogging Holiday Postcard
The last month during our blogging holiday I have been mainly pre-occopired with weaning Bonnie, which has been so much fun but as expected a lot more work then just breastfeeding but I am loving it. The joy any parent gets from watching their child consume lots of healthy food is something I never imagined - so deeply satisfying. I have also been taking advantage of my last few weeks with Elfie in Kindergarten before the summer holidays and been trying to go on little trips with Bonnie. We went foraging for Elderflower one day and to Hampstead heath another. School holidays have now arrived and I am trying to work out a way to slow things down and just enjoy my girls - maybe focus on one simple achievement a day like bake a load of bread or visit one friend - that kind of thing. I am currently writing a list of things to do over the holiday, which I will share with you soon. ..

Hannah's blogging holiday postcards
We’ve answered the ever present call of the sea far more than usual and as often as possible, throwing a blanket and bucket and spade in the boot and stopping at our favourite caf for sustenance. I have raved with Dave and Frankie at the second Club Milk in Faversham, the most joyous day of dancing and stories. We welcomed my new nephew into the world; witnessing my sister in law have the most empowered home birth. I went to London and did fun stuff and didn’t blog it ; ) We’ve eaten fresh local peaches and cherries, gorged on Kent strawberries. I've had time to read some brilliant fiction and nurture our little garden. I am again reminded about the importance of taking care of YOURSELF and again committed to doing more of it. I'm excited to be back though, and have missed this space and all of you.
