Davina here - Its Elfie's birthday on Valentine's Day - she is going to be four. I can't quite believe it - how time goes by so quickly - I no longer have a toddler but an actual child! Tomorrow she is celebrating her birthday at Kindergarten at her Steiner School for the first time, which I have strong memories of doing as I also went to a Steiner School and absolutely loved my birthdays there - you get to wear a gold crown all day - what could be better?
I have baked a scone cake for Elfie to take in tomorrow as she is in love with scones and they are quite low in sugar compared to a cake. I also thought it would be nice to use my Letterpress Cookie Cut set and make some little Valentine cookies for her classmates. Above are the cookies we made. We packaged each one up in a little glaseline bag to make them extra special.
Here are three other ideas I have found that I LOVE:
This simple stamp idea would be great to make cards or wrapping paper with for Valentine's Day.
The perfect present for a parent or grandparent from a child on Valentine's Day or indeed any celebration.
I just so love this noodle necklace! I know that Elfie would have so much fun making one - its on my list.
I really like the idea of Elfie celebrating the love that she has for friends this Valentines although maybe it would be more appropriate for her to celebrate Galentine's Day..She has such passion for her friends - I can really see that soon they will be the most important thing in her life, which is amazing but also a little sad as it means Nick and I will become less of a focus for her but we will always be her parents and I guess ultimately thats what matters - we aren't there to be her best friends (as much as sometimes I'd love to be).
We'd love to hear what you get up to this Valentine's Day - please do share.
