7 Months Pregnant - Monthly Diary

Davina here - I am finding it hard to believe that I am now past 30 weeks pregnant and officially 7 months yesterday. I remember last time with Elfie being so excited and proud to reach the 30 week milestone whereas this time it has just come and past with all the busyness around Elfie starting kindergarten this week and Nick going to America for work. But I am still aware of it and will use this blog post as a chance to focus on it (one of the reasons I love blogging - it enables one to reflect).

Pregnancy Updates:

Pregnancy Yoga:

Over the last month I have really found myself a lot more focussed on the birth and looking after myself during pregnancy. I think this has been motivated by my pilate classes and starting pregnancy yoga again. I can't stress how valuable I think doing these classes is. The classes have allowed me to be surrounded with other pregnant women and indulge in conversations about the birth and beyond. The breathing and relaxation exercises have relighted my love of hypnobirthing and I have re-read the whole book and been practising daily when possible. I will write a post soon in more depth about why I love the idea of hypnobirthing and what techniques work best for me.

Feeling the Baby Move:

The baby's movements are getting stronger everyday - I now basically feel her whenever I walk around or move really. I don't remember being so sensitive to the feelings of movement and really of the baby's presence in my womb last time - but this time its as if I can actually feel her inside me all the time. I constantly feel hard rounded areas pressing against my skin as if she is pushing against me. Elfie feels it too and often comments on feeling her 'cheeky' baby sister kick her.

Older Sibling Playing Games with Unborn Baby:

I had a lovely experience the other day. I had a bath with Elfie and she made up a game to play with the baby. She placed a bath ball on my tummy button and waited for the baby to kick and push it off. It was really funny and sweet to watch Elfie talk to the baby and try and show it how to push the ball off.

Making for the Baby:

So I still haven't done much making for the baby. I have just been feeling so tired in the evenings and unmotivated but hoping to have a little more time to make now Elfie is at Kindergarten. Here is my list of things I want to make.
