Hannah here: In between packing billions of boxes to prepare to move house, and packing billions of bags to prepare to go away on our month long road trip around Europe, and shooting houses and hurrying to meet deadlines I snuck away when I was supposed to be working/packing and did a little bit of sewing. I know I know, perhaps a little silly (sorry Dave) but in the midst of all of the chaos, it was incredibly satisfying to elbow the boxes and laptop out the way and sew something beautiful, finishing it in one sitting.
DIY two sided game board
I knew I wanted to make some practical crafty projects for our trip, but I have to say that my original plans were curtailed somewhat with the bombshell of having to move house. Sill, I managed to make this two sided game board for Mollie Makes. It's infinitely useful for our trip, and uses recycled beer bottle tops (I always try to get something vaguely ethical in there) and neon fabric spray paint. You can read the full tutorial in issue 43 out now! Rather excitingly, I also have a house feature in there too- a wonderfully colourful home in the Netherlands. Go read it!
DIY toothbrush pouch
Another super quick, Pinterest inspired, trip craft is our toothbrush pouch. Its just a rectangular flannel folded in half and with grid lines sewn on to it. I also attached a little bit of ribbon at the end to close it. There is space for all of our toothbrushes and toothpaste. Voila! No more soggy toothbrushes in your toilet bag, and no more scrabbling around in the dark in the tent trying to find everything. It's washable too.
